Slow Club - Yeah So (Deluxe Edition) 2CD 2009-SiRE

Here is the newest album by Slow Club titled Yeah So. Slow Club is the name of a two-piece folk-pop band from Sheffield, England. This is the deluxe edition containing a bonus cd of b-sides/rare tracks/live songs. Enjoy!

From the outset there is something immediately familiar and yet vitally inventive about Slow Club; the riotous rallying calls of Because We’re Dead and Dance ‘Til The Morning Light, the unlikely anti-folk ‘epics’ Giving Up On Love and Our Most Brilliant Friends; songs built on skiffling Crickets rhythms and the lost art of a good middle eight. Throughout the album the twin voices of Charles Watson and Rebecca Taylor conspire with an unmistakably youthful vigour, book ended by the deft ballads When I Go and Boys On Their Birthdays, dexterous soliloquies of admission and humour.

DISC 1:

  1. When I Go
  2. Giving Up On Love
  3. I Was Unconscious, It Was A Dream

Jethro Tull - Heavy Horses [1978]

Image

Heavy Horses is an album released by Jethro Tull on April 10, 1978. It is considered the second album in a trilogy of folk-rock albums by Jethro Tull, although folk music's influence is evident on a great number of Jethro Tull releases. The album abandons much of the folk lyrical content typical of the previous studio album, Songs from the Wood, in exchange for a more realist perspective on the changing world. Likewise, the band sound is harder and tighter. The album reached #19 on the Billboard 200 album chart.

This album was the last studio album to feature John Glascock playing bass on all tracks.

Track Listing:
1. ...And the Mouse Police Never Sleeps – 3:11
2. Acres Wild – 3:22
3. No Lullaby – 7:54
4. Moths – 3:24
5. Journeyman – 3:55
6. Rover – 4:59
7. One Brown Mouse – 3:21
8. Heavy Horses – 8:57
9. Weathercock – 4:02
